Our take on the Audio-Technica AT2020
The Audio-Technica AT2020 is an XLR side-address studio condenser with a cardioid pattern, a common first mic for streamers. At a tracked $118 it sits near the top of a $99 to $119 range since August 9, 2026, so a small dip is possible.
The cardioid pattern reduces pickup from the sides and rear. The box includes a stand mount, a thread adapter and a pouch. The output is a 3-pin XLR, so it needs an interface or mixer. Side-address means you speak into the side of the capsule, not the top. Retailer rating is 4.7 across 15,128 ratings.
