What we are building, and why
This is the live feature and idea backlog for StreamPartPicker. It gets reordered as real data comes in: what people search for, what builds get submitted, and what visitors ask for below. Nothing here is a promise, just the current plan.

Building next
eBay curation bake
Automated Browse API filter + light human approve pass for used-gear listings, replacing raw search links.
SPP Relay beta
Managed SRT/SRTLA relay with auto-BRB and a live link-health dashboard (see RELAY_CONCEPT.md), currently waitlist-only.
Backlog
Compatibility engine
Flag incompatible picks across slots (e.g. phone-only builds cannot use HDMI capture).
Saved builds / accounts
Move past URL-encoded builds toward accounts so a build persists without a share link.
Community build ratings
Let visitors upvote or comment on submitted builds instead of a flat list.
Premium done-for-you kits
Curated, pre-assembled backpack kits sold direct or via partnership (LiveU / UnlimitedIRL / Peplink).
Software/service affiliate expansion
Referral programs for IRLToolkit, Speedify, Streamlabs, Peplink, LiveU beyond the current hardware-first catalog.
Per-region uplink guidance
Localize the mobile-uplink planning budget in the quality engine instead of one conservative global number.
Backlink referral tracking
Measure which outreach targets (OBS/Streamlabs wikis, subreddit megathreads) actually send visitors through the embed badge, so outreach effort goes to what works instead of a guess.

Service category buy-click tracking
Aug 2026The five service category pages (encoder, dataplan, bonding, relay, software) were the one buy CTA site-wide missing the value/item ID GA4 needs to total affiliate-click value.
Five service category pages
Aug 2026Encoder, dataplan, bonding, relay and software had no category page at all, since subscriptions and apps can never clear the hardware publish gate. They publish instead as ranked comparison rows: cost to run for a year, the deciding specs, the honest catch, and the guides that use each option.
Guide drip extended to 31 October
Aug 2026Queued six more data-backed guides (bitrate, IRL data usage, buffering, power bank runtime, night camera, IRL checklist), each pulling its figures from the same bitrate/quality model instead of typed numbers.
Tracked pricing re-bake
Aug 2026Added SPP’s missing ASINs back into the omorp price bake: tracked ASINs grew from 483 to 584, published part pages from 438 to 530.
Two-column hero, per-page disclosure
Aug 2026Hero splits into copy on the left and today’s streamer on the right; the sitewide disclosure banner is gone in favor of a disclosure placed next to the buy links on every page that has one.
Streamer-of-the-day card rework
Aug 2026Card now puts identity and the buy action at opposite ends instead of stacking with empty space, and the builder’s four stacked pill rows collapse into two segmented controls.
Real streamer profile photos
Aug 2026All 342 directory streamers now show a real photo pulled from their own Twitch/YouTube channel art instead of bare initials.
Tracked pricing for generated parts
Aug 2026The price/rating/image bake now scans the generated parts and streamer picks too, not just the curated catalog: tracked ASINs grew from 234 to 483.
Directory drip, usage badges, streamer of the day
Aug 2026Streamer directory pages roll out on a daily drip instead of all at once. Parts browser and quick view show "used by N streamers" badges, and the homepage hero rotates a different streamer each day.
304-page streamer directory + gear index
Aug 2026A filterable streamer directory (platform, creator type, game) and a /gear index of 1,172 products showing which streamers reportedly use each one, mined from what.equipment.
Generated parts library
Aug 2026376 tracker-index products (mics, cameras, capture, lighting, and more) baked into the configurator as buyable parts alongside the curated catalog.
Visual builder mode
Aug 2026Tile-based build view (photo, price, buy link per slot) as the default, with a List toggle back to the classic table.
Cross-retailer buy links
Aug 2026Walmart / Best Buy / Newegg / Target search links on parts that lack a live Amazon buy box.
Dead Amazon listing cleanup
Aug 202619 discontinued or bogus listings resolved: 3 removed outright, 16 swapped to affiliate search links until a current ASIN is confirmed.
Right-sized mobile hero image
Aug 2026Homepage hero now serves a smaller mobile-specific image instead of the full desktop version, cutting LCP bytes roughly in half on phones.
Real ASINs for streamer gear picks
Jul 2026Direct Amazon buy links for 34 streamer gear items that previously fell back to generic search links.
Backlink embed badge
Jul 2026Copy-paste badge on the Bitrate Calculator so streaming wikis, blogs, and Discord resource lists can link back to it in one paste.
Per-channel ROAS tracking
Jul 2026UTM attribution persists across the visit and merges into GA4 events, so affiliate-click value can be compared per traffic channel and campaign.
Site-wide newsletter capture
Jul 2026Footer email signup for new guides, price drops, and deal alerts.
OG / Twitter share cards
Jul 2026Every page renders a proper preview card when linked or shared.
Retro-tech theme
Jul 2026Phosphor amber palette, IBM Plex Mono display type, squared corners.
Mobile quick-buy CTA
Jul 2026Sticky summary bar on mobile gets a one-tap buy action.
Dark-first retheme
Jul 2026Streamer-native dark palette and Space Grotesk display type.
Bitrate-to-quality verdict
Jun 2026Every build shows the stream quality it can hold and the limiting factor.
Used-gear picks via eBay
Jun 2026Discontinued cult gear (Sony FDR-X3000, HDR-AS300) sourced through filtered eBay search.
