Our take on the Audio-Technica AT875R
The Audio-Technica AT875R is a short shotgun mic for compact cameras, suited to IRL streamers who need narrow pickup without bulk. At a tracked $189 it sits at the top of a tight $185 to $189 range since August 9, 2026.
It is under 7 inches long and weighs 2.88 ounces, so it adds little weight on a small body. The pickup angle is narrow and rejects sound from the sides and rear, and the tuned response limits camera and handling noise. Because the angle is tight, you need to aim it at the subject. Retailer ratings average 4.6 across 853.
