Our take on the Tascam DR-05X

The Tascam DR-05X is a pocket recorder with two built-in condenser mics, for streamers who capture field audio or use it as a USB mic. It can also feed a PC in USB audio interface mode.

In that mode it supports voiceover work and live streaming. Two AA batteries last up to 17.5 hours, or it can run from a USB battery. Storage goes up to 128 GB. It weighs 11.2 ounces. Retailers rate it 4.4 across 2,566 ratings. Used as a recorder it gives you a backup copy of your voice track in case the stream drops.

Cons
