Our take on the Electro-Voice RE20
The Electro-Voice RE20 is a broadcast XLR dynamic microphone with a Variable-D design, a classic radio voice for a streamer with an interface. At a tracked $449 its price held across 11 readings from August 9 to October 19, 2026, so no sale pattern shows.
Variable-D keeps proximity effect low, so the tone stays steady as you move. The pickup is true cardioid with no coloration 180 degrees off axis. The response is tailored for voice. The body is metal and weighs 2.9 pounds. Retailers rate it 4.8 across 443 ratings.
