Our take on the Sony FDR-AX43A
The Sony FDR-AX43A is a 4K handheld camcorder with a built-in gimbal, for streamers who need zoom reach from a fixed spot. At a tracked $1,109.95 it sits above the middle of a $803.79 to $1,349 range since August 9, 2026.
The listing gives 20x optical zoom, extended to 30x in 4K and 40x in HD with Clear Image Zoom, plus fast autofocus and sound-noise reduction. It connects over USB and Wi-Fi, and weighs 1.4 pounds. Zoom is the draw here: it can frame a stage, a game field or a workbench from across the room. The price swings a lot, so waiting makes sense. Retailer rating is 4.5 across 58 ratings.
