Our take on the GL.iNet Mango (GL-MT300N-V2)
The GL.iNet Mango is a mini OpenWrt travel router with an OpenVPN client, a cheap private network for venues. At a tracked $29.99 it was flat across three points from August 26 to October 1, 2026.
It has two Ethernet ports, 128MB of RAM and 16MB of flash. The Wi-Fi is the older 802.11 b, g and n, so it is not for high-bitrate streaming over Wi-Fi. A wired uplink from a venue port is its strength. It has 4.1 across 13,088 retailer ratings, a deep pool. Its small size makes it easy to carry in a bag.
- Under $30 at the tracked price
- OpenVPN client works with 30 plus VPN services
- Two Ethernet ports and OpenWrt
- Wi-Fi is older 802.11n only
- 128MB of RAM limits heavy use
- 4.1 average across 13,088 ratings

We do not lab-test hardware. Ratings and review counts come from the retailer listing and are labelled as such; stream-quality figures are conservative planning budgets from our published model. Prices are tracked at build time, not live, and were last refreshed 2026-10-22. How the numbers are derived: methodology. How picks are chosen: editorial policy.
