Our take on the Sony SELP1650 16-50mm
The Sony SELP1650 16-50mm is a power zoom kit lens for E-mount cameras, for streamers who want a cheap lens with built-in stabilization. At a tracked $103.55 it sits at the top of an $88 to $103.55 range from August 9 to October 1, 2026.
The power zoom moves smoothly and quietly, which helps when you adjust framing on stream. Built-in image stabilization steadies handheld IRL shots. The minimum focus distance is 0.25 to 0.3 meters, so it can focus close on desk gear. It only fits E-mount bodies and will not work on A-mount cameras. Retailer rating is 4.1 across 340 ratings, the lowest among the Sony lenses here.
