Our take on the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM
The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM is a full-frame E-mount zoom for streamers who want one lens that covers a tight face shot and a wider desk view. At a tracked $1,798 it sits at the top of a $1,598 to $1,798 range from August 9 to October 1, 2026, so a sale could save $200.
The constant f/2.8 aperture helps in a dim room. The listing says the lens has no image stabilizer, so a locked-off tripod or arm mount is the right place for it. The closest it can focus is 0.38 meters, close enough for showing product close-ups on camera. Angle of view runs 84 to 34 degrees on full frame. Retailer rating is 4.5 across 614 ratings.
- Constant f/2.8 across the 24-70mm range
- Focus down to 0.38 meters for close-ups
- Dust and moisture resistant design
- No image stabilizer, so handheld IRL use is shaky
- Tracked at the top of its range, $200 above the low
