Our take on the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary
The Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary is a compact zoom for Sony E-mount cameras, for streamers who want a fast aperture without a huge lens. At a tracked $790 it sits at the bottom of a $790 to $829 range from August 9 to October 1, 2026.
The lens weighs 470g and has internal focusing, a focus mode switch and a Nano Porous Coating. The constant f/2.8 aperture helps in a dim room. It starts at 28mm, so a close desk camera may not capture a very wide scene. Retailer rating is 4.6 across 692 ratings.
- Constant f/2.8 across the zoom
- 470g body is lighter than G Master zooms
- Tracked at the bottom of its recorded range
- Wide end of 28mm is tight for close desk cameras
- Sony E mount only
- No stabilization listed
