Our take on the TOPPING A90 Discrete
The TOPPING A90 Discrete is a desktop headphone amp and preamp, not a mic interface. It suits a streamer with high-end headphones who wants a clean monitoring chain. At a tracked $599 it has stayed flat across 11 points from August 12 to October 19, 2026.
The listing gives XLR and RCA inputs, which the Ext90 can grow to 4 XLR and 2 RCA, plus a remote and a GND/LIFT switch to fight ground loop hum. Output impedance is 20 ohm single-ended and 40 ohm balanced. The listing mentions no microphone input, so an XLR mic still needs a separate interface. Retailer rating is 3.3 across just 5 ratings, too few to rely on.
- Works as both headphone amp and preamp
- Ground loop switch for hum
- Remote control included
- Only 5 retailer ratings, 3.3 average
- No mic input in the listing
- Price flat at $599, no tracked drop
