Our take on the Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X Headphones
The Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X is an open-back studio headphone at 48 ohms, for a streamer who edits audio and wants no amp. At a tracked $279.99 it sits in the lower half of its $259.99 to $319.99 range since July 13, 2026.
The listing says the 48 ohm drive reaches full volume from a laptop, interface or phone. It uses a STELLAR.45 driver and a detachable mini-XLR cable. The open-back design gives a wide soundstage, but sound can leak toward a nearby mic. Retailers rate it 4.5 across 1,597 ratings.
- Full volume without a headphone amp
- Detachable mini-XLR cable
- Open-back soundstage for editing
- Open back can leak sound to your mic
- Tracked $20 over its $259.99 low
- No built-in mic
Where it fits in a build
Monitor your audio. Closed-back headphones (no mic) are the pro pick if you mic separately; a headset adds a mic for comms or casual use. See every headphones / headset pick

We do not lab-test hardware. Ratings and review counts come from the retailer listing and are labelled as such; stream-quality figures are conservative planning budgets from our published model.
