Our take on the Shure SE425

The Shure SE425 is a wired in-ear monitor with dual drivers and a sound isolating fit, for streamers who monitor on stage or at a desk. At a tracked $299 it sits at the top of a narrow $296 to $299 range since August 9, 2026.

The wireform design loops over the ear and holds the earphones in place. Three sizes of flex and foam sleeves come in the box, and the cable detaches through an MMCX connector. A 1/4 inch adapter and carrying case are included, with a two year warranty. Impedance is 22 ohm. It has no mic. Retailer rating is 4.4 across 1,022 ratings.

Pros
  • Sound isolating over-ear wireform fit
  • Detachable MMCX cable
  • Two year warranty and carrying case
Cons
  • No mic
  • Price barely moves, so no sale to wait for

Monitor your audio. Closed-back headphones (no mic) are the pro pick if you mic separately; a headset adds a mic for comms or casual use. See every headphones / headset pick

We do not lab-test hardware. Ratings and review counts come from the retailer listing and are labelled as such; stream-quality figures are conservative planning budgets from our published model. Prices are tracked at build time, not live, and were last refreshed 2026-10-22. How the numbers are derived: methodology. How picks are chosen: editorial policy.
