Our take on the Canon EOS R5 C
The Canon EOS R5 C is a 45 megapixel full-frame hybrid camera with 8K video, built for productions rather than a basic face cam. At a tracked $3,199 it sits at the top of its $2,999 to $3,199 range since August 9, 2026.
For streamers, the useful parts are the internal cooling fan, which the listing ties to long 8K/60P recording without interruption, and timecode in and out for multi-camera setups. It records to formats including MP4 and uses the Canon RF mount. At 1,310 grams it is heavy for a desk arm. Few streams need this much resolution, so it suits a studio with several cameras. Retailer ratings are 4.7, but only 59 of them.

We do not lab-test hardware. Ratings and review counts come from the retailer listing and are labelled as such; stream-quality figures are conservative planning budgets from our published model. Prices are tracked at build time, not live, and were last refreshed 2026-10-22. How the numbers are derived: methodology. How picks are chosen: editorial policy.
